Okay. Usually I don't start talking about my own personal life, but... Whatever. This is a diary right? Haha.
Anyway, I'm sitting at home relaxing. It's really early in the morning and my 10-month-old daughter is in her crib playing. I start reading, getting really into what I'm reading (a Health Law textbook haha. I'm weird). I didn't even notice when she became quiet.
And then I smell it...
Poop.
Sighing, knowing that I'm going to have to change a poopy diaper, I walk over to the crib and ... Freak out would be an understatement.
Poop. Poop everywhere... She'd pulled off her diaper at some point and was having a blast playing in her poop, which is only on the very edge of her diaper, so she'd pulled it off either during or prior to pooping.
Everywhere
On her arms, legs, on her head.
Worst still... SHE WAS EATING IT.
Now before you start pulling out the experience, I'm just going to say that I am a first-time mom and NO ONE told me that babies will rip their diapers off and eat their own poop.
This needs to be taught in schools. I'm just sayin'
Two baths later, and after asking everyone I know what to do and asking everyone if I should go to the ER, and one shower (for me) later, I'm laughing about it.
Not so much the "haha funny" kind of laugh. More like the crazy "Oh dear Lord what did I sign up for with this parenting spiel???????????" laugh.
So there you have it. If anything, I hope this diary gave you a good laugh. Maybe I'll be nominated for "Freak-out of the Day" or something :P
Seriously, this needs to be taught in schools.
